Dr Jen Rankin
I am an NHS Consultant Psychiatrist, medical educator and coach with more than 20 years experience working with people through periods of challenge and change.
I became interested in coaching through my work supporting doctors with career development, confidence and professional transitions. What struck me was how valuable it can be to have dedicated space to think - particularly when life looks successful on paper but you are no longer quite sure what you want.
That experience led me to develop Transition Point Coaching. I work with people navigating career decisions, changing roles, confidence, relationships and the other transitions that can make us stop and reassess our goals.
My approach is warm, practical and evidence based. I won't tell you what you should do. Instead, we will explore what matters to you, what might be getting in the way and what realistic change can look like.
Outside of work, I am married with 2 children and 1 dog. I am based in South Wales having trained in both London and Wales. I'm also navigating my own transitions; renovating our home and adjusting to the kids growing up. I'm also a recent convert to hybrid training - including completing my first HYROX!

A SCIENTIFIC FRAMEWORK
1. Evidence based approach.
My coaching draws on established psychological & behavioural research and recognised coaching approaches while staying focussed on you as an individual.
2. Understanding what is happening.
I draw on psychological research around areas such as behavioural change, motivation, confidence and wellbeing to make sense of what may be influencing where you are now.
3. Reflection into action
Insight is useful, but it doesn't always create change on its own. We'll use reflection alongside realistic actions, reviewing what works and adapting as you move forward.
